Maintain behavior that is compliant with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as
HIPAA. 2.
Greet, register, instruct, discharge and provide general assistance to patients. 3. Obtain and record demographic, insurance and financial information. 4. Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes. 5. Take and record vital signs and be able to notify providers of out of range values. 6. Retrieve and fax/mail medical records to primary care providers and insurance carriers per patient request. 7. Answer telephone, take messages and return voicemails. 8. Provide clerical support as required. 9. Draw blood work, run in office labs/tests, and provide treatments as directed by providers. 10. Obtain prior authorization for tests, medications, and procedures. 11. Clean office and work areas and ensure supplies are properly stocked 12. Ability to adhere to the Core Values of the Company, of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness. 13. The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees 14. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with customers, co- workers and managers. 15. Cross train to reception duties
Experience Requirements and Preferences:
Medical assistant certification and phlebotomy certification required. Medical office experience and a familiarity with basic medical terminology preferred. Ability to work independently and with the public in a high-pressure environment. Ability to multitask without supervision Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communications skills. Must have an outgoing and compassionate personality.
