Full Job Description Job Overview:
Northeast Allergy, Asthma and Immunology/ Allergy and Asthma Physicians has 7 medical offices in Massachusetts. We work together as a team to care for both pediatric and adult patients with a variety of allergy and immunology related conditions. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time medical assistant to work full-time at our MIT office. This position is Tuesday through Friday. 32-34 hours a week.Duties:
- Assist with patient care, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting basic history, and performing various forms of allergy testing.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems to document patient information accurately (eClinical Works).
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, handling insurance related tasks, answering phone calls, and assisting with prior authorizations.
- Educate patients on proper medication usage, allergen avoidance, and other healthcare instructions advised by the provider.
Skills and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Competence in performing vital signs measurements and basic medical procedures.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems to maintain accurate patient records.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to handle administrative tasks effectively
