We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our growing team! Modern Dermatology of Massachusetts is an independent Dermatology clinic that was established with the sole purpose of offering compassionate and ethical dermatologic care to our community members. This MA candidate will support our board-certified dermatologist and owner of the practice, Erik Domingues, MD, FAAD and Jessica Runquist, PA-C. Dr. Domingues and Jessica have been proudly serving the Southcoast region for many years. The MA's schedule will be Monday

• Friday MA's at Modern Dermatology of Massachusetts will be eligible for comprehensive benefits, 401k, and PTO.

Overview:

This position supports our dermatology team by preparing procedure trays, ensuring adequate supplies for the department and assisting with patient care, as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Preparing patients for exams and procedures, preparing equipment and instruments using proper sterilization techniques
• Cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, equipment and instruments as needed
• Administer medications as directed by a physician
• Provide medical administrative support; including patient scheduling.
• Assist healthcare providers with patient care and examinations
• Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare team
• Work in clinical settings to provide care for patients
• Take and record vital signs accurately
• Answer, triage and route phone calls from patients, pharmacies and referring providers
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Understanding demographics, insurance verification, prior authorization & referrals
• Entering lab results using EMR software

Qualifications/Skills:

• Gap student (PA, NP, or Med) ideal

• CPT/ICD 10

  coding
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) preferred but not required
• Proficient in medication administration techniques
• Knowledge of medical administrative procedures including billing and coding
• Ability to provide compassionate patient care
• Competent in performing diagnostic tests
• Familiarity with medical terminology for accurate documentation
• Experience working in clinical environments
• Ability to understand and apply policies, procedures and protocols
• Ability to interact with patients, providers, supervisors and peers in a professional manner
• Proficient in spelling and grammar
• Strong computer and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation is a must
