Mallory Psychiatry is seeking a personable, reliable, and detail-oriented TMS Technician / Medical Assistant to join our practice in Lenox, MA. In this role, you'll work directly with patients receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), providing treatment under physician-directed protocols while helping coordinate the administrative and clinical details that support their care. This position may be an especially good fit for medical assistants (certified or pursuing certification), nursing students, medical students, pre-med students, or others interested in gaining direct patient-care experience in psychiatry and interventional mental health. Prior TMS experience is not required; comprehensive training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Administer and monitor Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments according to physician-directed protocols using the NeuroStar system; comprehensive training will be provided. Prepare patients and treatment equipment for scheduled TMS sessions and ensure treatment protocols are followed accurately and consistently. Document treatments and patient progress accurately in the medical record. Provide compassionate, professional one-on-one support to patients throughout their course of treatment. Observe patients during treatment and promptly communicate relevant questions, concerns, or changes to the prescribing physician. Assist with TMS scheduling and coordination of patient appointments. Support insurance-related processes, including benefits investigations and prior authorizations. Respond to patient inquiries and provide appropriate education and administrative support. Maintain clear and consistent communication with the prescribing physician and practice team to support continuity of care. Occasionally communicate professionally with local referral sources, including therapists and physicians, regarding practice services. Assist with general clinical and administrative office needs as appropriate. Is comfortable working independently while following established clinical protocols. Can manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing needs in a small private-practice environment. Communicates professionally and confidently with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals, both verbally and in writing. Is comfortable working with individuals receiving treatment for psychiatric conditions. Is interested in learning about TMS, psychiatry, and emerging approaches to mental health treatment. Qualifications Medical assistant training/certification, nursing or medical education, or prior direct patient-care experience is a plus, but not required for the right candidate. Current students pursuing nursing, medicine, pre-medical studies, medical assisting, or another healthcare-related field are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in a medical, behavioral health, or patient-facing environment is preferred but not required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology is helpful. Strong computer skills and ability to learn electronic health record and clinical systems. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow treatment protocols precisely. Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and professional boundaries. Ability to remain on your feet for portions of the workday and perform the physical tasks necessary to prepare and administer TMS treatments. Work Schedule Approximately 15 hours per week Monday through Friday Part-time In-person only at our Lenox, MA outpatient practice Location Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Lenox, MA 01240 for all scheduled shifts. Pay:
