Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will manage and organize patient medical records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Your proactive approach will support clinical staff by maintaining seamless access to vital health information, facilitating efficient patient care, and upholding the highest standards of privacy and security. Responsibilities Organize and file paper-based and electronic medical records in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies and health regulation policies. Assist front end staff by retrieving and preparing medical records for appointments, audits, or legal purposes. Ensure all health information regulatory compliance requirements are met, including privacy protection under healthcare privacy laws. Obtain and fulfill Record Requests from third party vendors, insurance providers, outside counsel, disability requests etc. Support revenue cycle management by verifying insurance details, obtaining insurance referrals, and processing billing documentation as needed. Qualifications Experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting with familiarity in medical records management. Knowledge of health information management principles, including electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Understanding of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and health regulation policies governing patient data. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for managing complex records systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to healthcare privacy protection standards. Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
