Job Description

Busy Podiatry office hiring an team oriented individual to work as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting Podiatric Physicians. Responsibilities include patient rooming, updating medical histories, documenting visit details, and assisting with Podiatric surgical procedures.
Pay and Hours:
Pay range begins at $22 per hour but may vary according to the candidate's level of experience.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with a team to manage patient volume averaging 30-40 pts daily. Document patient histories, including HPI, medical, surgical, and family history, medications, and allergies. Prepare and assist with Podiatric surgical in office procedures. Perform scribing responsibilities, including inputting templates and chart notes as directed by the physician Log pathology and culture samples and coordinate with appropriate laboratories. Operate specialized equipment such as musculoskeletal lasers. Process prescription refills. Triage patient phone calls and communicate with the physician about patient concerns. Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control practices including autoclaving instrumentation. Clean and stock examination rooms and supply areas. Maintain reliable and consistant attendance. Assists with scheduling, rescheduling and confirming appointments. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Checking insurance eligibility and referral information. Posting payments and charges into EMR system. Perform other duties as assinged by the supervising physician or department lead.
Knowlege and Skills:
High School Diploma or GED requied 0-3 years of medical assistant experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate patient records Effective communication and team work skills This role requires a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong committment to patient care and operational success. Candidate will be required to travel between two offices and work between 30-36 hours per week. Starting wages will be based on experience. Benefits include 401K, health insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays.
