Medical Assistant Somerville, MA About the RoleAtrius Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct clinical support to providers and help deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care. Schedule:

Rotating opening and closing shifts within operating hours of 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Monday-Friday, with a rotating Saturday and Sunday schedule of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Escort patients to exam rooms and support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

Prepare patients for exams, including obtaining vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight.

Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and department-specific testing.

Update and maintain accurate patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), including medications, allergies, and medical history.

Perform waived point-of-care testing such as strep, urine, HCG, and glucose testing.

Communicate visit updates to patients and help address routine questions or concerns.

Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.

Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Medical Assisting or graduation from a Medical Assistant certification program.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, if required by specialty.

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or customer service setting, as determined by the department (associate or bachelor's degree may substitute for experience).

Computer proficiency, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience or demonstrated ability to learn new healthcare technology systems.

Knowledge of reagent stability and storage.

Understanding of testing procedures and factors that influence test results.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:

$16.00 - $29.00 per hour
