Medical Assistant

Job Description

Premier Dermatology is looking to hire a team- oriented Medical Assistant to join our practice. Premier Dermatology has been open since 2019 and is quickly growing. The practice offers medical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. We are looking for a candidate who is flexible, dependable, works efficiently and willing to go above and beyond for our patients. This position will be responsible for: Escorts patients to the appropriate room, accurately obtains and records history and chief complaints to MD/NP. Directly assisting the Provider with all aspects of dermatology care including biopsies, excision, surgeries, wound care, and cosmetic procedure set up. Provides assistance with prescription refills, and completion of pathology lab requisitions documents. Stocking all exam rooms, cleaning and sterilizing all instruments including running all weekly biologic testing for autoclave. Pre-charting all patients prior to their visit. Submit prior authorizations for patients to help ensure they can qualify for the medication recommended. Implements quality control standards to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of testing equipment. Monitors, orders and maintains equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean, sterilized, and stocked. Prepares scheduled, patient charts and other documentations as needed for clinical activities. Facilitates timely flow and informs patients and providers of delays in a timely manner. Acts as liaison between patient and practice staff to ensure optimal flow and service. Records and maintains pathology log book to ensure that all pathology reports have been properly documented. Provides and reviews appropriate instructions to patients regarding procedures and testing. Organizes and prioritizes daily work task to ensure the MD/NP's schedule runs smoothly and all patient needs are met.
