Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and hospital medicine. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate medical documentation, and a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support procedures. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans. Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling administrative support tasks related to billing and coding. Conduct patient education on medication use, treatment procedures, and health maintenance strategies based on physiology knowledge and pharmacology principles. Assist with hospital or inpatient procedures when necessary, including inpatient experience or Level I/II trauma center protocols. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to medical terminology standards, medical documentation protocols, and privacy laws. Support emergency medicine scenarios in urgent care or trauma settings by assisting with intake assessments and vital signs monitoring. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings with a strong background in medical assisting and administrative support. Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical records management. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Experience with phlebotomy techniques and medication administration protocols. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or Level I/II trauma centers. Inpatient experience or clinic experience in internal medicine or geriatrics is a plus.
