Job Description

Medical Assistant - Dunkirk & Prince Frederick, MD Calvert Internal Medicine Group is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team.
General Summary of Daily Duties:
Inspects exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition; maintains sample medication closet; stocks and maintains rooms and nurses' stations with adequate supplies. Performs one or more of the following daily: Venipuncture; Vitals, PFT, EKG; PT/INR; Urine Dip; Rapid Strep; Visual Acuity; Injections; Glucose Finger Stick; Rapid Flu A/B—point of Care testing. Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, height, and medication reconciliation. Record patients' medical history, vital signs, and information such as test results in the electronic medical records. Checks patients' medical records for protocols Prepares Intake for office appointments; requests previous records and information from appropriate sources; Schedules appointments and tests as directed by the provider; reviews all requisitions (labs and x-rays) for completeness. Assists providers in examining and treating patients, handing them instruments and materials for performing such tasks as giving injections. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
HS diploma/equivalent. CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, EMT-B, or EMT-1 certification is preferred. At least 1-year previous experience is required as a medical assistant, certified nursing assistant, or other clinical position in a hospital or doctor's office in place of certification required.

$17.95 - $25.00 per hour

EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred) venipuncture: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
