Job Overview Capital Women's Care provides total women's healthcare at the highest medical and ethical standards. This is a great opportunity to join one of the best OB/GYN practices in the area and a dynamic team. Capital Women's Care is a 150+ group of OB/GYNs located throughout Greater Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to our OB/GYN physicians and clinical staff who displays empathy and professionalism towards patients. Responsibilities Responsible for verifying patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary. Responsible for collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, giving patients injections and drawing blood. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding electronic and paper medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Assist with sterilizing equipment / maintain proper working knowledge of the Autoclave. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant Certification required. 2 years of medical assistant experience required. At least 1 year of OB/GYN experience preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their health. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Commitment to providing compassionate care while advocating for women's health issues.
