Office-Based, Lewiston, Maine We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to manage electronic health records (EHR) and support the accurate processing of clinical documentation. This role is responsible for maintaining patient record confidentiality, processing electronic documents, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Manage incoming and outgoing clinical documents within the EHR system. Process physician orders, Plans of Care, Discharge Summaries, and related documentation. Scan and upload patient records and forms into the EHR. Maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of medical records. Process chart copy requests and coordinate chart storage. Order and maintain department supplies. Update department procedures and perform other assigned duties. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two years of office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of EHR systems and medical terminology preferred. Skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Knowledge of HIPAA and handling confidential information. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Prolonged sitting and computer use.
