The main clinical duties of the MA/CTA are rooming patients, assisting providers with clinical care, and oversight of the medical shower and respite beds at the MH-PSLC. We are searching for a candidate who has experience or is passionate about serving vulnerable populations. We are seeking a compassionate MA with strong communication skills and a passion for serving underserved populations. Experience with trauma informed care, mental health, substance use disorders, homelessness services, or other healthcare settings is preferred. The hours of this position are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM. No nights or weekends or Mainehealth observed holidays.

Department and Program Summary:

The MaineHealth Preble Street Learning Collaborative (MH PSLC) is a low-barrier clinic that addresses the needs and care of people experiencing homelessness through education, outreach, and walk-in medical services, case management, and other community resources. We also launched the CONNECT Outreach Van, a grant-funded mobile outreach program that delivers trauma-informed treatment for psychiatric and substance use disorders to people with unstable housing in Greater Portland. The Learning Collaborative offers the opportunity to join a close and supportive interprofessional team that provides medical care, social work, and basic support for patients with unstable housing. Medical Assistants:

0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time) 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time) Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Position Summary:

Medical Assistant The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant (MA) role functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

License/Certifications:

Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.

Experience:

Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Position Summary:

Clinical Team Assistant:

The Clinical Team Assistant (CTA) is responsible for performing daily patient service functions to support the clinical team in the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Team Assistant functions under the license of a provider when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Education:

Student or graduate of an accredited vocational program, community college, or university in the field of health sciences that required clinical experience for advancement; or completion of an MA program that did not require a clinical externship; or completion of a healthcare vocational program with a patient facing component; or equivalent relevant clinical patient facing experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

License/Certifications:

Current BLS certification within one month of hire required.

Experience:

A minimum of three months of patient facing clinical experience required. The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package. The pay range for the medical assistant position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. The pay range for the clinical team assistant position is $20.27 to $24.36 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
