Job Description

This position is a hybrid of two roles: Front Office Reception and Medical Assistant Our practice is seeking an experienced individual to fill a medical receptionist position that includes patient rooming duties. Primary responsibilities will be assisting the front office with check-in, entering patient information into charts and rooming patients to be seen by the doctor. Phlebotomy and injection experience not necessary. The right candidate will have customer service experience, preferably in healthcare. We are a small team and it is essential that the individual hired is pleasant and able to communicate with patients and coworkers in a professional, courteous, empathetic manner with a top priority of helping the patient. This position is Monday thru Thursday, approximately 36-38 hours.
Approximate working hours are:
Monday 8:30-6:30; Tuesday 8-6; Wednesday 7:45-5:30; Thursday 7-3:30, we are closed Friday to Sunday.
Some responsibilities include:
Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation Verify and enter demographic information Answer phones and return calls to patients as needed Schedule/confirm patient appointments Enter health information into patient charts Check patients into exam rooms to see the physician Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area
Qualifications:
Previous experience in medical office administration or other related fields is recommended Previous experience as a medical assistant helpful, but not required Ability to prioritize and multitask Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills Team player $17-19/hour depending on experience Generous PTO, Paid holidays and the option to contribute to a Simple IRA.
