Job Description

Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Take the next step in your laboratory career with an engaging opportunity as a Pathologist Assistant focused on pathology supporting critical diagnostic services. This 8-week contract role offers a structured weekday schedule with opportunities for additional hours, providing a dynamic environment where your specialized expertise makes a direct impact.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Key Qualifications:
Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist's Assistant program OR PA (ASCP) certification Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience working as a Laboratory Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant in a clinical setting Strong communication and documentation skills Demonstrated ability to multitask and provide care in both
Intensive Care and General Practice Units Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and assist with the examination of surgical specimens and post-mortem examinations as directed Support pathologists in the diagnosis of patient samples by ensuring accurate processing and documentation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate patient care information to physicians, co-workers, and other healthcare staff Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures as required Maintain high standards of quality control, safety, and compliance with department protocols Accurately complete patient care documentation and billing processes As needed, provide mentorship and guidance to respiratory therapists, externs, and students assigned to the department This is an excellent chance to enhance your skills in a reputable healthcare environment, strengthen your clinical expertise, and work alongside dedicated professionals.
