Duties Assist providers with daily clinical and administrative activities. Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and provider visits. Perform and document injections and other approved clinical procedures within the scope of training, certification, and applicable regulations. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other patient information. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and medical records. Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, referrals, and scheduling. Communicate with patients regarding appointments, procedures, and required documentation. Coordinate with physicians, nurses, caregivers, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare professionals as needed. Assist with medication-related documentation and coordination as directed by the provider. Prepare examination rooms and maintain necessary supplies and equipment. Assist with referrals, laboratory orders, medical records, and other clinical paperwork. Ensure patient information is handled confidentially and according to applicable privacy requirements. Follow office policies, clinical protocols, infection-control procedures, and safety standards. Support insurance, authorization, and other administrative documentation when needed. Perform other medical assistant and office-support duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant. Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with knowledge of EMR/EHR systems. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS). Inpatient or hospital experience is preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine or OR procedures is a plus. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle diverse populations including geriatrics and internal medicine patients. Ability to manage medical records accurately while demonstrating attention to detail in documentation and data entry. Knowledge of medical assisting practices across various specialties such as dermatology or urgent care is advantageous.
