Job Description

Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Seeking a skilled professional with Laboratory and Pathology Assistant experience for a focused contract role supporting critical diagnostic services in a respected healthcare environment. In this position, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality specimen handling and preparation, supporting the diagnostic process that directly impacts patient outcomes.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Qualifications:
BLS certification required Completion of a NAACLS accredited Pathologist's Assistant program OR PA (ASCP) Certification Demonstrated experience as a Laboratory or Pathology Assistant Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, examine, and dissect surgical and autopsy specimens under guidance of pathologists Perform a variety of diagnostic laboratory procedures as needed Ensure proper management of clinical and specimen data, maintaining meticulous documentation Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare professionals, and support staff regarding patient cases and workflow Adhere to established protocols for infection prevention and laboratory safety Supervise and provide direction to supporting laboratory personnel and students as assigned Accurately complete all required patient care and billing documentation Flexibly support departmental assignments as business needs evolve across the facility Working in this dynamic laboratory setting will allow you to apply your technical expertise in pathology and laboratory science, making a meaningful difference in patient care every day.
