The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, medical documentation, and patient care, with experience across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, and urgent care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting physicians and healthcare providers by delivering exceptional patient service, managing medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical environment. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support procedures. Document patient interactions accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality of medical records. Support administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and verifying insurance information. Assist with medical documentation related to diagnosis codes (ICD coding), treatment plans, and procedural notes. Coordinate with pharmacy services for medication refills or prescriptions while understanding pharmacology principles. Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessments. Support hospital or inpatient teams by assisting with patient mobility, vital sign monitoring, and basic clinical procedures as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across clinical settings such as urgent care clinics or dermatology offices. Skills Strong knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine practices. Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management tools. Experience in medical office management including scheduling, billing support, and administrative workflows. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately. Familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate diagnosis documentation. Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications in phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous. Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to outpatient care settings. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or hospital units while maintaining attention to detail. Inpatient experience or OR (Operating Room) exposure is preferred for certain roles requiring sterile procedures or surgical support.
