- Part-time, Full-time Positively Pediatrics is one of the premier medical practices in the Linden/Fenton area.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES
Preview patient schedules ahead of time as well as prep charts to assess accuracy of records/vaccines/medical needs for each visit. Greet patient and family, obtain vitals (Temp/Hgt/Wgt/Blood pressure) and record chief complaint. Perform vision and hearing screens at appropriate age well visits Perform capillary blood draws for hemoglobin checks and run accurately on appropriate equipment Assess immunization status, draw up and administer vaccines, and record in EMR. Fill out necessary paperwork needed for each visit as needed Sanitize rooms and patient areas between patients Monitor medical providers' inboxes for patient cases and assist with calling patients to give results and answer questions. Perform triage functions, addressing patient calls that include clinical concerns, daily. Ensure medical equipment is cleaned, disinfected, sterilized and maintained according to standards. Assure CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards are followed and documented appropriately. Adhere to approved company policies, procedures and philosophies. Maintain either directly or through delegation, the inventory, ordering, stocking and maintenance of all exam room medical supplies, clinical equipment/instruments, medications including vaccines, etc. Willingness to cross train at the front desk (see above for description) to assist in staff cohesiveness and potential shortages is a bonus. Provide the highest level of patient care while creating the most pleasant experience possible for both the patient and family.QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent; College classes/degree or medical terminology/certification preferred. Bonus points for CertifiedMA. EXPERIENCE
Working in a medical office as a medical assistant (Pediatric experience is a plus.)COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Compensation will be reflective of education and experience. Paid time off including major holidays after 90 probationary period. 401K plan to be offered after 1st year of service.
