Job Purpose:
  • The Medical Assistant at
INTERCARE COMMUNITY HEALTH
NETWORK's School Based Clinic will provide essential healthcare support to ensure the well-being of students. This role involves assisting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care, promoting health education, and supporting the smooth operation of the clinic within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for students.
  • Record patient information accurately, including medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and organized.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by healthcare providers, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Provide basic health education and counseling to students, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care.
  • Coordinate with school staff and parents to facilitate communication and ensure comprehensive care for students.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and other administrative tasks to support clinic operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
  • Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities organized by the clinic.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities and training sessions.
