Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately. Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient visits, procedures, and treatments. Perform phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) procedures to support patient care. Manage medical documentation including progress notes, ICD coding for diagnoses, and detailed medical records in compliance with privacy regulations. Support medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative support duties. Conduct patient education on medications, treatment plans, and post-procedure care while maintaining excellent patient service standards. Maintain proficiency in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to ensure accurate communication and documentation. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with knowledge of EMR/EHR systems. Strong understanding of dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care protocols, or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with ICD coding, medical terminology, and electronic health records management is essential. Prior inpatient or hospital experience preferred; OR or geriatrics experience is advantageous. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle intake procedures efficiently while demonstrating professionalism and compassion. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical assisting best practices to support comprehensive patient care.
