Job description As a IV Technician , you will be responsible for ensuring that patients are properly prepared for their surgical procedures by establishing intravenous access and assisting with other preoperative duties as needed. The ideal candidate will be experienced in starting IVs, able to create accurate procedure notes, be reliable, dependable and maintain high standards of care and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Start intravenous (IV) lines for patients prior to surgery. Ensure proper placement and function of IV lines and troubleshoot as needed. Document accurate procedure notes for each patient, detailing the IV insertion and other related procedures. Assist with patient intake, including preparing patients for the procedure and explaining preoperative instructions. Responsible for preparing procedure charts in advance to verify the correct procedure, site, patient allergies, anticoagulant use, and other pertinent clinical information Communicate effectively with patients, families, and surgical staff to ensure clear and compassionate care. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines. Provide support during the recovery phase as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in starting IVs in a clinical setting (hospital, outpatient clinic, etc.). Strong knowledge of IV insertion techniques and patient care. Ability to create accurate and detailed procedure notes. Dependable, punctual, and able to handle a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well within a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. BLS Certification Required.
