This role combines front-office responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients while assisting healthcare providers with essential medical tasks. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient service in a fast-paced environment. All positions are paid, recognizing the vital contribution of every team member. Duties Greet all patients with a positive attitude. Answer Michigan Fertility Services calls. Schedule appointments for new and returning patients. Update patient information and patient registration. Call patients who have missed their appointments to follow up or reschedule. Verify prior authorizations, referrals, insurance coverage/policies, and patient demographics. Escort patients to examination rooms; take detailed medical history Take and enter into medical record patients' vital signs; alert physician or nurse of any abnormalities Perform testing and/or sample collection including blood draws, injections, cultures, biopsies, urinalyses, etc.; ensure all collected samples are properly labeled and transported in a timely fashion Assist physician with medical procedures Follow-up/track receipt of results from tests and procedures ordered by the physician Check encounter forms, diagnostic laboratory forms and physician orders on patients' records for accuracy and completeness Maintain a safe and clean environment; clean equipment and examination rooms according to established procedures Maintain various logs including maintenance, inventory and biopsy Accurately posts all charges for the date of service to the system and runs daily reports to ensure all charges are posted and completed batches are closed. Collect co-pays, fees for services, past due balances, and post payments according to established policies. Perform clerical duties including photocopying, data entry, faxing, e-mailing, ordering supplies, establishing and following up on appointment scheduling and maintaining and retrieving patient records Perform reception duties including answering telephones and taking and relaying messages Establish and maintain productive working relationships with people inside and outside the department and/or practice Work well under pressure. Contribute to the team effort. Skills Patient care skills Ability to operate accurately a variety of medical equipment, including blood pressure monitors, autoclaves, glucometers, thermometers, syringes/needles, scales, ultrasound, centrifuges, and stethoscopes Knowledge of medical insurance and medical office billing Good written and verbal communication skills to convey and receive information effectively (face-to-face, telephone, and electronic) Good analytical and judgment skills Ability to use computer software programs and systems Ability to effectively work independently and with a team Manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities. Proficient in navigating EHR Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, personnel, and/or financial data Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and manage time Education and/or
