Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines clinical support with administrative responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations within a busy medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong patient service skills, medical knowledge, and proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while supporting the daily functions of a dynamic medical environment. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes. Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and current medications accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EMR). Prepare patients for examinations by documenting symptoms and assisting healthcare providers during procedures. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, administering medications under supervision, and basic life support (BLS) as needed. Manage appointment scheduling, coordinate follow-up visits, and maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations. Assist with medical documentation, coding (including ICD coding), and ensure accurate entry of medical records for billing and legal purposes. Support office operations by managing inventory supplies, handling phone inquiries professionally, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting with a focus on patient service and administrative support. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and basic medication administration procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential. Familiarity with clinical procedures such as vital signs collection, intake assessments, and basic phlebotomy techniques. Inpatient or hospital experience is advantageous, particularly in urgent care or hospital medicine environments. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications in phlebotomy or medical assisting are preferred. Understanding of ICD coding standards and medical documentation practices to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping. Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
