Job Description

Entech Medical Staffing has a full time opening with a busy family practice located in Romeo/Washington area. Under direct supervision of the provider the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. This is a full time long term temporary assignment to start with potential for hire based on performance, attendance, etc.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Escort patient to room and prepares patient for examination, procedure, and treatment. Obtain and record patient history employing critical thinking skills. Obtain vital signs and record in the electronic medical record (EMR) Prepare for, set up and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per protocols, policies, and procedures. Prepare, administer, and document oral, parenteral medications and immunizations as ordered by the supervising provider. Maintains accurate immunization and medication administration records. Document care provided during patient visit in the EMR. Actively monitor & respond timely to patient requests via telephone encounter, In basket message and/or My Chart according to identified time frames and documents responses in the EHR. Prepare medication refill/request for provider review and signature in EHR. Assist physician with minor procedures as needed, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • required
  • Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate and/or transcripts
  • required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of medical assistant experience
  • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
  • Proficient with EMR systems, Athena or EPIC is a plus
  • Current BLS with the American Heart Association or able to renew.

$20.00
