Job Description
Dermatology Medical Assistant (Pre-Med / Pre-PA Gap Year) Mittal Dermatology This position is intended for a high-performing pre-med or pre-PA gap year applicant seeking meaningful clinical experience prior to graduate training. Mittal Dermatology is a growing dermatology practice serving patients throughout the western suburbs of Minneapolis. Our clinical team includes two physicians, two nurse practitioners, and one physician assistant. We are seeking a bright, dependable, and detail-oriented student to join our team as a Dermatology Medical Assistant. Medical assistants work closely with providers and play an active role in patient care and clinical workflow. This role provides hands-on exposure to medical and procedural dermatology and is an excellent opportunity for students preparing for careers in medicine or physician assistant programs. We currently have two pre-med gap-year students on our team, and this position has been an excellent clinical experience prior to medical or PA school. Ideal candidates are able to commit for approximately 12-24 months prior to beginning graduate training. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain focused medical histories Document patient visits in ModMed EMA electronic medical record Assist providers with dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy Prepare exam rooms and procedure trays Reinforce treatment plans and post-procedure instructions for patients Assist with prescriptions and pharmacy coordination Support clinic workflow and patient flow in a busy dermatology practice Required Qualifications Pre-med or pre-PA student or gap year applicant Strong attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional, dependable, and able to learn quickly Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment Ability to rotate between clinic locations (Orono, Plymouth, Crystal, Osseo, Maple Grove) Preferred Qualifications Prior clinical experience Dermatology clinic experience Experience with ModMed / EMA Compensation Depending on experience Schedule 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday Full-time and part-time positions available.
