Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance details, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support diagnostic processes. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) when needed. Document clinical notes precisely using medical terminology and ICD coding for billing and record-keeping purposes. Conduct routine laboratory tasks such as specimen collection or processing samples in accordance with safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards across outpatient clinics or hospital units like PICU or Geriatrics wards. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with background in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient assessments. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or medication administration are advantageous. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ICD coding to ensure precise documentation and billing accuracy. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments including emergency medicine settings or hospital units like ICU or OR experience preferred. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings.
