Job Description

We are looking for an Experienced Medical Assistant for a full-time position with Midwest Orthopedics and Spine Care. The ideal medical assistant candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, have the ability to multi-task and have experience with precertification, procedure scheduling, patient phone calls with the capacity to triage and proficiency with medication refills. On clinical days you will be responsible for rooming patients and obtaining a current health history along with preparing the patient for the Physician. The job may include dressing changes, removal of post-operative sutures and ordering of DME equipment. Responsibilities for the medical assistant will also include cleaning and stocking of the exam rooms, keeping a neat and orderly common area as well as maintaining an accurate and informed schedule for the Doctor. The medical assistant will help coordinate any diagnostic testing and surgeries along with pre-certification for those tests and surgeries. This is a professional, fast-paced office and you must be able to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction. You must be a team player who likes to take initiative and be willing to assist other team members when needed. Medical Assistant emphasis must be placed on Patient confidentiality as well as abiding by all HIPAA regulations. Spine and work comp experience a plus! Experience with surgery scheduling a plus
