Assists the physician and office staff with selected duties to include clerical processing, patient preparation, scheduling, lab, x-ray and medical records. As directed, performs patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. Your responsibilities include:
Preparing patients for provider visits using the
Advanced Standard Rooming Process:
Documenting chief complaints
Taking vitals, reviewing history and allergies
Completing medication reconciliation
Addressing care gaps (e.g., screenings, diabetic eye exams)
Rechecking elevated blood pressures
Documenting preventive visit details in Epic ????
Performing in-office testing:
Blood draws
Mental status exams
EKGs
Oxygen studies
Point-of-care testing Administering vaccines and injections within scope Scheduling follow-up appointments per office policy Collaborating with providers and clinical teams to support care plans Qualifications Primary Care Assistant

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Certification:
BLS required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Experience:
6+ months in clinical healthcare, ideally in primary care Primary Care

High School Diploma or GED
Certification:
Active MA certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)
BLS:
Required within 90 days of hire
LPN Option Education:
Diploma in Practical Nursing
Licensure:
Active LPN license
Preferred Experience:
6+ months in clinical healthcare, preferably primary care
