Part-Time Medical Documentation Assistant

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Documentation Assistant to support a busy healthcare provider. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with documentation, staying organized, and helping keep the provider's daily workflow moving efficiently. The Medical Documentation Assistant will help prepare, organize, and maintain documentation throughout the day while keeping up with the provider's schedule and documentation needs. Duties Prepare and organize documentation using established templates Enter information from intake forms, provider notes, and source documents into the appropriate documentation Keep up with the provider's daily schedule and documentation workflow Help ensure documentation is organized and ready as the provider moves from one appointment to the next Review documentation for spelling, grammar, formatting, and missing information Track pending, completed, and follow-up documentation Scan, upload, rename, and organize documents Maintain organized electronic and paper files Prepare paperwork and materials for scheduled appointments Identify incomplete items that require provider review Assist with other documentation and administrative tasks as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Experience Previous medical office, behavioral health, medical records, documentation, transcription, or administrative experience is preferred Strong typing and computer skills Experience with Microsoft Word and electronic health records is preferred Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and stay focused Ability to keep pace with a busy provider schedule Professional communication skills Dependable attendance and punctuality This is primarily a documentation and provider-support position . It does not involve diagnosing patients, prescribing medications, or making independent clinical decisions. We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, comfortable working at a steady pace, and able to help keep documentation organized throughout the workday.
Pay:
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week Application Question(s): Are you available to work in person Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM? Are you comfortable working primarily on documentation and computer-based tasks throughout the day? Do you have experience working in a medical office, behavioral health office, medical records, documentation, transcription, or healthcare administration? Are you comfortable using Microsoft Word and learning electronic health record systems? How many years of administrative, medical office, or documentation experience do you have? This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to keep up with a busy provider schedule.
