The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a private practice setting and able to rapidly learn new skills. We have a new dermatology practice that involves medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology so multitasking is critical. You will manage patients through their appointments and assist the dermatologist during patient visits. Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical history Assisting in phototherapy treatment would be a primary responsibility in this role Organize and schedule appointments Assist during dermatology examinations Assist in dermatology procedures, including surgeries, cosmetic treatments and other dermatology procedures Providing verbal and written correspondence to patients via phone and portal system Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms Assist in inventory ordering and maintaining medical supply levels Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Skills Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service-oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software Education & Experience High school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program required Medical assistant certification is preferred.
