Description:
Join our dedicated care team! We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant in CDHA's Davidson Office to support our Gastroenterology providers in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to exceptional service and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Provide direct support to Physicians, Advanced Care Providers, and RNs in the delivery of gastrointestinal care. Greet and room patients; verify patient identity using two identifiers; obtain vital signs, medical history, medication/allergy updates, and current symptoms. Prepare exam rooms, maintain cleanliness, and ensure all supplies and equipment are stocked and safe. Assist with clinical procedures such as breath tests, pill cam placements, and specimen collection. Complete lab requisitions and prepare specimens for pickup. Document all clinical information accurately in the EHR and ensure medical charts remain current. Manage prescription refills, pre-certifications, authorizations, and referrals. Triage patient calls according to protocol and schedule appointments. Educate patients on procedures, conditions, and care plans. Ensure timely scheduling and follow-up on labs, imaging, and procedure orders. Contribute to patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, AAAHC). Support practice operations through teamwork, communication, and a focus on patient satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned within scope. Maintain knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education. Participate in performance improvement activities. Maintain compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements; act promptly to comply with required changes. Requirements:
Education/ and or Experience:
RMA or CMA certification preferred Two year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
