Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support medical staff, and ensure the smooth operation of the medical office. Your expertise in clinical procedures, medical documentation, and patient service will contribute to delivering high-quality healthcare experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across diverse specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services, all within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures in various specialties including dermatology and emergency medicine. Conduct phlebotomy and medication administration with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, ensuring proper documentation of patient encounters, medical history, and treatment plans. Support medical administrative functions including patient intake, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records. Assist with ICD coding and medical documentation to ensure accurate billing and compliance with healthcare regulations. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate inpatient (including ICU and trauma center) and outpatient care delivery while maintaining a focus on physiology knowledge and anatomy understanding. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required from an accredited program. Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and medical-surgical procedures. Experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or Medication Administration are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in fast-paced settings like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers. Excellent patient care skills combined with strong organizational abilities in managing medical records and documentation.
