Job Description
Shaikh Medical has been serving patients in Johnston and Wake County for 25 years with utmost dedication and care. We are seeking a professional and qualified Certified Medical Assistant who will be part of a team working under Internal Medicine providers providing care to patients within a clinical setting. This is full time M-F / in office position in Garner, NC.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant Experience:
At least two years of physician office-based experience is required. Experience with electronic medical records is necessary (AllScripts a plus). Must have a clean background/criminal record and minimum one-year experience working as certified medical assistantSkills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and medical equipment
- Must show initiative in identifying and solving problems related to both administrative and clinical issues directly related to patient care.
- Must be a clear communicator and be able to work well under periods of pressure and stress.
Principal Duties:
- Patient Check in / out and perform general nursing care. Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by supervising physician.
- Maintain courteous attitude when greeting patients and preparing them for physical examination by provider.
- Ensure accurate patient intake and timely flow of patients.
- Observe, record, and report patient's condition during treatment; Dispense medications & injections as directed.
- Maintain patient records via entry of appropriate documentation.
- Make arrangements for patient testing, prescription refills and procedural / referral treatment
- Will be primary phone contact for patients and handle requests for test results, prescriptions, and other requests in a timely manner
- Will maintain examination rooms for supplies and cleanliness during the day. .Conduct EKG/ANS testing
- Must maintain patient and clinic confidentiality as per HIPAA.
- Other clinical assistant duties as required.
