Piedmont Pathology Professional Corp - [Hickory, North Carolina] Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Pathologists' Assistant to join our laboratory team on a 0.4 FTE basis. This position is ideal for a professional seeking a consistent, reduced schedule while maintaining a high level of clinical involvement. You will provide essential support in the grossing of surgical specimens, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in our surgical pathology suite.Key Responsibilities Gross Description:
Perform gross examination and dictation of a wide variety of surgical specimens (ranging from simple biopsies to complex resections).Dissection:
Expertly dissect and sample tissues for histological processing according to established protocols.Collaboration:
Work closely with staff Pathologists, Pathology Assistants and lab technicians to ensure seamless workflow.Frozen Sections:
Assist with the preparation and staining of frozen sections for intraoperative consultations.Compliance:
Maintain strict adherence to CAP, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations.Requirements Education:
Master's degree from an NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.Certification:
ASCP Board Certification (PA-ASCP) or eligibility to sit for the exam.Experience:
Experience in a high-volume surgical pathology setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.Skills:
