Jacksonville, NC What You'll Do As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by providing both clinical and administrative support to our providers.

Responsibilities include:

Welcome and room patients while collecting vital signs, height, weight, and chief complaint information. Obtain and update patient medical, surgical, family, and social histories. Review and reconcile medications, allergies, and preferred pharmacy information. Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments. Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens. Administer medications under provider supervision. Perform clinical testing including EKGs, vision screenings, and other diagnostic procedures. Review patient charts to identify preventive care and routine health screening needs. Educate patients by providing after-visit instructions and self-care information. Prepare, stock, and maintain examination and treatment rooms. Clean and sterilize instruments following infection control standards. Answer clinic phones and assist with patient communications and provider in-basket tasks. Assist with prior authorizations, durable medical equipment (DME) documentation, referrals, and other administrative responsibilities.
