+ Ankle Specialists is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. This is a hands-on clinical position that combines direct patient care with clinical coordination and desk responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with patients, assisting the physician, managing multiple tasks at once, and helping keep the clinical side of the office running smoothly throughout the day. Responsibilities Patient Care and Rooming Room patients and prepare them for evaluation and treatment Review and update medications, allergies, medical history, and reason for visit Obtain vital signs as needed Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record Prepare patients and treatment rooms for the provider Clinical Assisting Assist the physician during examinations and in-office procedures Set up instruments, supplies, and treatment areas Assist with wound care, dressing changes, injections, postoperative care, and other procedures Assist with nail procedures, wart treatments, foreign body removals, and similar in-office procedures Remove sutures as directed Apply dressings, padding, wraps, and other treatments Assist with diabetic foot care and neuropathy-related visits Imaging and Diagnostic Support Perform foot and ankle X-rays Assist with ultrasound and other diagnostic procedures Prepare patients and equipment for imaging and procedures Bracing and Orthotics Fit patients for walking boots, ankle braces, postoperative shoes, and other durable medical equipment Educate patients on proper use of braces and medical equipment Cast or scan patients for custom orthotics Assist with orthotic dispensing, fitting, and adjustments In-Office Treatments Perform or assist with REMY laser treatments Perform or assist with shockwave therapy Perform Lunula nail laser treatments Prepare treatment areas and document treatments appropriately MRI and Surgical Coordination Assist with scheduling MRIs and other outside imaging Send imaging orders, notes, and supporting documentation Assist with scheduling surgical procedures Communicate with patients regarding surgery dates, locations, instructions, and preoperative requirements Help coordinate medical clearances, referrals, and surgical paperwork Communicate with hospitals, surgery centers, imaging facilities, insurance companies, and outside medical offices as needed Clinical Desk Responsibilities Manage multiple clinical and administrative tasks throughout the day Respond to patient messages and clinical phone calls Assist with prescription requests, imaging questions, surgery questions, and follow-up needs Complete clinical forms, referrals, faxes, and other paperwork as needed Track outstanding tasks and ensure they are completed appropriately Communicate effectively between the physician, patients, pharmacies, imaging centers, surgical facilities, and front desk Prioritize responsibilities while continuing to support patient flow Sterilization and Room Maintenance Clean and disinfect exam rooms between patients Clean, package, and sterilize instruments Follow infection-control and sterilization procedures Keep clinical rooms clean, organized, and appropriately stocked Patient Education Review postoperative and treatment instructions with patients Educate patients on braces, boots, orthotics, and other medical equipment Reinforce physician recommendations and treatment plans Make sure patients understand their next steps before leaving the office What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to manage several responsibilities at once.
This position requires someone who can comfortably transition between direct patient care, assisting with procedures, documentation, phone calls, scheduling, and other clinical tasks throughout the day.
Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized are important.
Previous experience in podiatry, orthopedics, sports medicine, or another hands-on specialty is a plus, but podiatry experience is not required. Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
