Job Summary Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who enjoys meaningful patient interaction and being part of a collaborative specialty care team? Join our Physiatry practice and play an important role in helping patients feel supported, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. In this hands-on, patient-facing role, you will partner closely with providers, nursing staff, and other team members to support smooth clinical flow, deliver excellent service, and contribute to high-quality care.Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Why This Role Stands Out As a Medical Assistant in Physiatry, you will support a specialty team focused on helping patients improve function, mobility, and quality of life. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys clinical variety, teamwork, and building trusted relationships with patients and providers. You will be involved in both clinical and administrative responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to use a broad range of skills while helping the practice run efficiently. What You'll Do- Room patients, prepare examination rooms, and support patient flow throughout the visit.
- Interview patients, obtain medical information, measure vital signs, height, and weight, and accurately document information in the medical record.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for healthcare providers and assist with visit needs.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and provider instructions using clear, supportive communication.
- Partner with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other departments to help deliver coordinated care.
- Perform general office duties, including phone support, forms, documentation, and patient advocacy.
- Collect, log, and prepare blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for testing; perform phlebotomy when competency is demonstrated.
- Maintain immunization inventory, monitor expiration dates, and administer immunizations as applicable.
- Support junior Medical Assistants by answering day-to-day questions and participating in onboarding and training.
- Contribute to departmental quality initiatives, including two patient identifiers and hand hygiene practices.
