Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) when necessary. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by documenting medical information accurately and efficiently. Conduct ICD coding and ensure proper documentation for billing and insurance purposes. Assist with laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and processing in accordance with hospital or clinic protocols. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a positive experience during every visit. Skills Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management for seamless documentation. Skilled in phlebotomy techniques and medication administration procedures. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of ICD coding standards for medical billing purposes. Capable of multitasking effectively in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or medical-surgical units. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
