Medical Assistant - Pre-Operative & Post-Operative Vascular Lab Support The Medical Assistant will provide essential clinical support in the pre-operative and post-operative areas of an outpatient interventional vascular lab facility. Working closely with nurses, physicians, and the procedural team, the Medical Assistant will assist with preparing patients before procedures and providing quality care and monitoring during the recovery process. This role involves welcoming and preparing patients for their procedures, obtaining and documenting vital signs, assisting with patient placement on monitoring equipment, preparing procedure areas, and supporting nursing staff with various clinical tasks. The Medical Assistant will help ensure a smooth patient flow while maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for patients undergoing minimally invasive vascular and interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural setting. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to anticipate the needs of patients and clinical staff are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with patient check-in, preparation, and transition through the pre-operative and post-operative process. Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature. Prepare patients for procedures by assisting with positioning, monitoring setup, and ensuring patient comfort. Apply and maintain patient monitoring equipment as directed by nursing staff. Assist nurses with pre- and post-procedure tasks, including room preparation, supply organization, and patient care needs. Provide support during patient recovery, including observation, comfort measures, and assistance with discharge preparation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and administrative staff to support efficient workflow. Follow infection control standards, safety protocols, and facility policies.

Qualifications:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred. Previous experience in a clinical, outpatient, surgical, cardiology, vascular, or procedural setting preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment and basic clinical procedures. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment. Compassionate and professional approach to patient care.
