Job Description
Job Overview The Medical Administrative Assistant enforces program regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA policies. He/she must have strong organizational skills. A vital component of his/her duties is to work closely with other departments in the company to deliver effective services to the program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answers phone calls to front desk
- Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes.
- Maintain laboratory portals, confirming the accuracy of all protected client information, and assuring facility compliance standards are met.
- Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the company to facilitate other business operations.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures
- Works with specialty pharmacies as needed
- APN scheduling
- Maintain agency's Code of Conduct, Laws of Confidentiality, HIPAA rules and regulations, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
- Assist in supervision of clients to ensure safety and well-being
- Follow up on client medical records as needed
- Tracks medications for refills
- Intermittent after-hours availability
- Worls with housing staff regarding medication delivery and refills as needed
- Observe client's self-administration of medication and update client's chart
- Build positive relationships with clients and staff
- Recognizes, responds to and assists in crisis situations as directed and needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- One year working in a substance abuse facility
- Experience with
Excel Preferred Experience:
- One year working as an administrative assistant
- Medical background preferred
