Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional patient service while supporting clinical operations. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth patient intake, accurate medical documentation, and efficient administrative support. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and update electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations Perform basic medical procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, and specimen collection as needed Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely care delivery Maintain organized medical records, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and document all patient interactions thoroughly Support clinical staff with tasks such as rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and managing inventory of medical supplies Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with knowledge of outpatient and inpatient procedures Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are preferred Experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in high-pressure situations Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Join our dedicated team where your enthusiasm for healthcare will help us deliver outstanding patient care!
