Established in 1984, the organization operates eight locations across various counties, including urgent care centers that provide walk-in services seven days a week. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical assisting, with experience spanning in urgent care, and outpatient settings. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, supporting clinical operations, and ensuring efficient management of medical documentation and administrative tasks. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in delivering seamless healthcare experiences while adhering to safety and quality standards. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments across diverse specialties including internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) by documenting patient information, medical history, and treatment plans precisely. Support clinical operations through tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and specimen collection. Ensure proper inventory management of medical supplies and medications while maintaining compliance with safety protocols. Perform basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and assist during emergency situations within hospital or trauma center environments. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical areas and equipment to uphold health standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with expertise in urgent care, or outpatient clinics. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology principles. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and medical documentation practices. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or X-ray technician are advantageous. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse patient populations. Familiarity with medical office management tasks including intake procedures and medical records organization.
