Asthma & Allergy Associates has served Central New York, the Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier for over 40 years. We have offices located in Ithaca, Cortland, Elmira, Vestal, and Fayetteville. This position is in place to support the Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care. This position will also assist in appointment scheduling and other related activities for optimal patient service. Our offices are open Monday-Friday, NO Nights, Weekends, or Holidays!
Certified Medical Assistant Qualification:
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Familiarity with New York State (NYS) laws and regulations governing medical assistants.. Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Duties and Responsibilities:
Record patient vital signs, medical history, and medications accurately in patient charts and EMR systems. Follow up on patient records as needed, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Stock patient examination rooms and nurse's station with necessary supplies. Perform front office duties as required, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and electronic faxing. Familiarity with EMR systems (Medent, in particular) is an asset.
