Job Summary We are a private Interventional Radiology practice seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at our beautiful outpatient center in Garden City, NY. At the practice we perform minimally invasive surgical and cosmetic procedures. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare providers in the examination and treatment of patients, performing various clinical and administrative tasks in a medical office setting. The medical assistant will also have the opportunity to scrub during procedures and assist the attending. Responsibilities

• Record patient information such as vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history in the EMR.
• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Experience with sterile surgical scrubbing and vascular and/or interventional radiology procedures is a definite plus but not required.
• Greet and check-in patients, verifying their information, collecting copay's and necessary paperwork.
• Assist in recovering patient's post procedures.
• Assist as circulator in OR
• Check insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits for patients
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception area, examination rooms, supplies and equipment
• Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
• Bilingual is favorable
• Spanish Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
• Previous experience as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting is a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
