This role focuses on direct patient care, accurate documentation in the electronic health record, and efficient coordination of patient flow throughout the day. The Medical Assistant ensures a clean, safe, and organized environment while helping patients feel informed, supported, and prepared for their visits. Responsibilities Perform and document vital signs accurately for each patient visit. Prepare patients and examination rooms for exams and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in accordance with practice standards. Provide essential patient care assistance to support physicians' daily activities, including greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes, positioning patients, and ensuring their comfort. Assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history, case notes, and other relevant clinical information. Relay instructions and care plans from the physician or nurse practitioner to the patient or an authorized person in a clear and professional manner. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant. Proficiency in taking and documenting vital signs accurately. Experience providing direct patient care in a clinical or urgent care setting.
Work Environment:
This role is based in a busy urgent care setting that typically sees 50 to 100 patients per day. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to work until 6:00 p.m. if needed. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Middletown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
