- Support the delivery of the highest quality of patient care as directed according to established standards and practices
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Be customer service oriented and maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Work in standing conditions for extended periods of time
- Monitor patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments to Providers/RN
- Share information with RNs and providers to help determine the best course of care
- Measure vital signs such as height, weight, body temperature, blood pressure, pulse and breathing
- Teach family members how to care for a relative or teach patients about good health habits
- Update medical records based on information collected
- Perform clinical tasks under direct supervision of a physician, such as rooming patients, checking vital signs, drawing blood, changing dressings, and authorizing prescription refills
- Interface with external disease management/case management organizations whether free-standing or associated with managed care plans
- Execute standing orders, i.e. administration of oxygen, EKG, IV, finger sticks, etc. when necessary and appropriate
- Collect samples for testing
- Maintain CPR certification
- Clean and sterilize instruments; inventory and order medical supplies and materials from Central Supply office
- Perform pre-physician screenings based on patient history and needs by obtaining personal medical data, including health history, current medications, reason for the visit, etc. and recording in medical record
- Screen patient needs and review charts, labs and self-management goals in pre-visit chart review and schedule needed services prior to visit
- Assist with insurance forms, pre-authorizations and referrals, as needed
- Provide direct or indirect patient care, requiring simple to complex nursing knowledge and skills
- Work independently and as a part of a team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience
