Medical Director Job Overview:
The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric consultation, support, and guidance in a person-centered manner to the care management and clinical teams.Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Clinical Team for Person Centered Services.
- Review and provide feedback regarding Life Plans upon request.
- Provide consultation on psychiatrically complex cases.
- Provide clinical guidance regarding support or treatment options for substance use or chronic health conditions.
- Review of and consultation regarding hospital discharge summaries when requested.
- Consult with care management teams regarding transitional care.
- Facilitate a brief clinical discussion between the care manager and member regarding transitional care upon request.
- Consult with nursing support specialists regarding medication regimens and medication options upon request.
- Responsible to provide support and consultation to the after hours on call staff, as needed
- Other duties as assigned/requested.
