Assists physician and nurse with designated procedures. Performs related secretarial/clerical duties. Requirements Education and Training Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
  • MA certification/registration within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS required.
Experience One (1) year related medical office experience; or 160-hour externship completed within the last five years in a medical/office setting. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications Ability to collect samples (e.g., blood, throat cultures, etc.) and to perform limited tests of such. Ability to operate microscope, cameras, videotape, etc. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion which may include handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • May require exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls, strains, etc.
Schedule:
32 Hours per week, 8:00am
  • 4:30pm, one day at Portage surgical office.
