Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist with medical documentation across diverse specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate record-keeping, and compassionate patient interactions. Responsibilities Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, history taking, and physical examinations. Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples accurately and safely. Support medication administration under supervision and manage medication documentation. Maintain electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) with precise and thorough medical documentation. Facilitate patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Manage medical records, ensure confidentiality, and assist with ICD coding for billing purposes. Support medical office management tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient service coordination. Assist in hospital or outpatient settings with procedures related to dermatology, emergency medicine, or inpatient care as needed. Requirements Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program. Proven experience in medical office environments with knowledge of medical terminology and physiology. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately. Familiarity with dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinic workflows preferred. Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to medication administration and patient care. Experience in phlebotomy, vital signs collection, ICD coding, and medical documentation is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine units or Level II trauma centers. Inpatient or outpatient experience across specialties like geriatrics, medical-surgical units, internal medicine or PICU is advantageous. $24.75 - $29.80 per hour
